Ran Online, Light Speed Level Up Guide for Newbies.
From Character creation to Lv. 100

Part 01 : Selecting Character and getting used to the game

All the games have different terms and the way to distributing stats and skill points. So, it is always confusing when playing a game for the first time.
Therefore, this guide is to help and explain the first time Ran players with tips and tricks for playing Ran in a simplified way.
The purpose of this Ran Guide is to lead the new users of ran from the start to the map where all the other players are playing together in the fastest time possible and also how to enjoy the Ran Online more.
Then, let me start the guide to get you from the character selection to level 100 with the most concerned matters such as hunting spots, hunting methods and the various systems in Ran.
I am not trying to give you too many complicated information right now, so just follow the guide to level 100 with this then you will automatically learn many things about the Ran Online.

01. Selecting Campus and Character

A. Campus (Town)
Ran Online does not have race. It has the school concept. Even though, these schools do not have any similarities but you can easily move to another school so just pick the one most tempted. Only difference is the NPCs who you need to get the quests from.
Select one among Sacred Gate School, Phoenix School, and Mystic Peak School.

B. Class (Character)
Classes are divided into four Swordsman, Brawler, Archer and Shaman. These departments are divided again into three traits of Strength, Dex and Spirit.
The Majors are not divided from the beginning. It will become different as which stats got the more points assigned to it and also the mastered skill sorts. It can be reset with oblivion potion.
So, think one more time which way you are going to advance to when you are learning the skill for the first time. Open the skill window (K) and read the skill descriptions or read the character descriptions on the Ran homepage then it shouldn’t be a problem

02. Getting Acquainted to Ran Online

A. Interface
Most of the games are played with the curiosity at the first time. Then, the character would appear in town and users would hunt some monsters, talk to the NPCs, take a peek at other player’s costumes and check the quests, skills and inventory window.
Plus, they would check the lagging and see how many other players are there. At this state users decide whether to play this game or not.
I would like to call this the prejudice act. I will explain about this matter and also want to tell you how to use the interface and move the character to hunt and carry out the quests.
When you connect to the game, you will be appeared in front of the selected school’s main building. Nothing is better than experiencing it yourself. Let’s check the interface with Screenshot.

Usually, in the town of a MMORPG game has many users selling items but there is no one selling anything and you might think, no one is playing? But, all the personal shops are located in the Campus Square map so there is no one you can see here.
You will easily find the high level players chatting or PK-ing (AKA Player Kill same as Duel). It wouldn’t hurt just to see what they are doing before you go for hunting.
The above screenshot is what you will be seeing when you connect to the game. Left top corner slots are the Shortcut key windows. Drag Potions or skills with mouse to the slot then it will be assigned to specific shortcut key.
You can easily understand the rest of the interface.

B. Requesting Menu
Pressing Shift + Left Mouse Button will open up the Request Window. Requesting for Trade, Whisper List, Party, Battle, add as a friend and etc will be displayed.
When requesting for the trade, top part of trading window will be the opponent’s section and the bottom one will be yours. You can see what you will be receiving on the opponents section and what you will be handing over in your section from your inventory.

C. Checking the Map
The scenery you are seeing in the screenshot is a hunting place where you have to go through. Each campus has different back ground but the monsters’ locations and the way which you will have to go through would be almost the same. So with just a one example of a campus can be enough for you to understand.

Then let me show you the other side of the scenery.

The shiny arrow in the straight ahead is the entrance of the main building the carts behind the poles on left and right are the entrance to the Campus Square map.
NPCs with quests and Shop NPCs and Locker room NPC are located in the campus main building. Many personal shops can be found in the campus square.

D. Setting Options
But first, since you have logged in so let’s hunt some monsters. You’d better set the options suitable for your computer system.
Press ESC button on your keyboard or press menu in your interface and select options. Then you will be able to see the Game Option Window displayed like the picture down below. You will need to set the resolution and other stuffs. Then press game tab and check the Display name and Auto attack boxes to play game easier.

E. Hunting and Confirming the Quests.
Should we hunt some monsters? Hunt ‘Little Hooligan’ the most impudent mob of RAN. You will be able to see many of them, if you go left or right of the main building.
Place the mouse point upon the Monster then it will be selected as a target automatically.
Then, pressing left mouse button will execute the normal attack and pressing right mouse button will execute the assigned skill attack.
Changing the view can be done by rolling the mouse wheel button for zooming and you can rotate the view point by pressing and holding the mouse wheel button.
As you hunt some monsters, you will be leveled up and the new quest will automatically pop up. Then, press ‘T’ to open quest window to check what kind of new quests are received. Press detail tap to see the details of how to carry out the quests.

Since you have hunted some monsters now, let’s go meet the NPCs which you will have to meet continuously while playing game in the campus main building.

The screenshot below is the inside of the campus main building. Press ‘M’ to open the map. Map is displayed small but you can enlarge it dragging the red triangle at the bottom left corner of map window.

Go meet all the NPCs whom quests will order you to meet, thoroughly. Hint, there is a Ran Online auto path finding system. Click any place you would like to go on the map then your character will automatically calculate the shortest distance and run towards the destination.

Quests in the beginning of the game must be completed at the specific level. The beginning quests will reward you with EXP, items and stat and skill points and also leads you to the suitable hunting spots.

F. Campus Square
For the last, let’s check out the Campus Square and end this session. Use carts located in front of the main building to go to the Campus Square map.

Most of the item trades are made here because the item trade fee is 0% and this place is a meeting place of the users. This is where the item prices are decided and traded so visit here often.

Traveling to different campuses is possible here by using the carts placed here for different campuses.
